Stargazing at La Palma in July
Canary Islands, Spain. Figures for July 2027, calculated by us. Times are local.

The darkest nights in July 2027
Nights when the Moon is down for almost all of the dark hours:
- 30 Jun to 7 Jul 2027 (8 nights)
- 30 Jul to 6 Aug 2027 (8 nights)
- New Moon: 4 July 2027
- Full Moon: 18 July 2027
What to know
- The Roque de los Muchachos Observatory stands at about 2,396 m.
- The Canary Islands’ ‘Sky Law’, approved in 1988, limits light pollution to protect the observatories.
- As on Tenerife, low clouds generally stay well below the summit ridge.
The summit road is long and winding. Allow plenty of time, and do not drive it for the first time in the dark if you can avoid it.
